So, it’s 2024. Although I feel extremely young, and very spritely, when I realised that I have now been Recommended Photographer at Hedsor House for 15 years, I rather needed to sit down. Around 100 weddings shot at Hedsor, and still loving it. Looking through all my Hedsor House photography over the last few weeks it has astounded me the archive of photos I have built up. Over the next few weeks I will be posting some Hedsor favourites here.
So many fond memories and so many fabulous weddings, including that of my late brother Tim (himself a renowned wildlife photographer). I told him back then there was only one place to get married and he took my advice. I didn’t shoot the wedding, but seeing him so happy there, and memories of my kids, back when they were just kids, dancing around in the Great Hall. It means that Hedsor House will always be special to me for personal reasons. But Recommended Photographer at Hedsor House – 2009 to Now – that is some huge Yayness.
The crazy thing is, that I remember so many of the faces in these pictures. Not just the brides and grooms. When you spend a couple of days editing each wedding you get to know the subjects pretty well. The fact that you have spent a whole day with them also helps. On occasion I’ve smiled at someone in the street thinking I know them. Actually they have just been a guest at a wedding I’ve shot.
Anyway, Hedsor House remains one of my very favourite venues, for its grandeur, and at the same time it’s homeliness. The light, the space, the backdrops it provides, and the staff….well they are just awesome.
There are thousands of favourite Hedsor House photographs to show (apologies for the watermarks on some)…and I will start here:
