Julia & Peter – Notley Abbey Wedding Photography

Great to be back at Notley Abbey, one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph. Julia & Peter got married in mid April – at the height of the Icelandic ash crisis. Their guestlist was heavily impaired because of the travel problems, as Peter is French and Julia is Russian. I was utterly in awe of their attitude on the day, they really did not allow the disappointment to dampen their spirits. One very poignant moment was seeing Julia on the phone to her mother in Russia during the drinks reception.

Notley Abbey is perfect for wedding photography, its amazing charm, open grounds and fantastic placement of many large windows afford any discerning (love that word!! 🙂 ) wedding photographer so many choices, and for a non-flash photographer like me, its a sheer joy to work at. The staff are also great – they are there when needed but invisible otherwise. The driveway at Notley Abbey stretches out under the canopy of the trees and looks stunning at any time of year.

“Hi Guy, thankyou for the pictures, they are awesome! You really captured the moment and various atmosphere during this special day. We specially like the one where we dance. Many thanks again, we have been delighted by the way you work. If we can we will recommend you for sure if friends of us need a photographer….”

Here are a few of my favourites…including my all time best cake shot ever (in my very humble opinion).
