Julia and Rich had a fantastic wedding day at the glorious Chandos House, right behind Cavendish Square in Central London. The venue was filled with incredible pink blossoms, and a not insignificant amount of chocolate, in the shape of (idea hunters take note..) a CHOCOLATE TABLE PLAN! My kind of wedding!
It’s not many weddings these days you get treated to an awesome 90’s indie soundtrack in the bridal suite but we enjoyed a whole load of Jesus Jones, Carter, Gene and many more…which was a nice change from You’re Beautiful and Someone Like You (both great songs etc etc but you CAN have too much of a good thing on Saturday mornings). Culturally I realised I had a huge amount in common with Julia and Rich as the day progressed, and during their ‘Who Knows Us Best?’ quiz before the speeches, I actually got quite a few of the questions right 🙂
We took a walk from Chandos Street to Cavendish Square and although it wasn’t blistering sunshine, we were graced with some great wind in veil action and I could see the images jumping out at me as I clicked away. Family shots were great fun on the steps of Chandos House, and into a cosy drinks reception inside. In pride of place was the incredible cake made by Julia – not forgetting the also incredible ‘Cheese Cake’ expertly dressed by Richard and his Best Man Alex (Rich will never forget that almost the last thing he did before he got married was put figs all over a sculpture of cheeses).
I really enjoyed shooting this wedding, Julia and Rich were a pleasure to be around, and the venue was perfect for my style. Here are some of my favourite photographs from their Chandos House wedding:
