Ok – so I am not the most prolific blogger…and ok, I don’t mind admitting that when the weddings quieten down a bit in January I like to spend some time on my bike, or with the kids, or clearing out the loft and shed etc. So when the other eleventy million wedding photographers ‘Best of the Year’ posts start popping up (in December…sheesh), I do have to take a deep breath and tell myself that March is a much more fashionable month to proudly display my Faves. NOT as soon as the year ends, darling. One doesn’t want to look too eager.
So an unnecessarily long paragraph to explain that this is a bit late because I have been enjoying my life. And although I have already woven dreams for nine couples this year, I have not been chained to my desk, proclaiming 40 times a day online that I am a Bucks Wedding Photographer to appease the gods of Gurgle.
So…here is where my Best of 2017 differs from most. Yes there will be a sunset shot or two – and yes there will be a “where’s Wally?” style pic – you’ve seen them… when you have to hunt down the bride and groom because they are teeny tiny in the bottom left or right of the frame. I can’t help myself on occasion to succumb to the inner hipster in me. BUT mostly you will find good honest wedding photographs that reflect a good honest wedding day. My choice, no second guessing. If you like what I like, then we are on.
These won’t be 99% Bride and Groom in exotic poses on cliffs. No wistful distance gazing here. They will not be 78% Birdcages, Shoes, and Rings on Branches. There will be no Headless Portraits. I am sorry to disappoint, but you will not find any Old Great Uncle Asleep In The Corner pictures either. Not fair on him, and really not that funny either.
So here we are. Guests laughing, Fathers crying, Kids playing, and Beer disappearing. Not to mention a whole bunch of Brides and Grooms having the best time on their wedding day – I hope you enjoy them.
