I was back at Hengrave Hall early this month – I shot their first ever wedding there back in August 2009, and have been shooting at Hengrave constantly since then.
I know Hengrave Hall is exactly 99.5 miles from my house, I know that the best light is found in a hidden corner at the back of one of the outside areas (and I’m not saying which), and I know that the left side hand dryer is more powerful than the right in the gents.
I also know that you need to turn the handle and push the left hand front door to get in, not turn and pull the right – and I am au fait with the fact that if it is a bright sunny day, and you are getting married in the afternoon between May and September, you need to stand 30cm further back than you think to avoid having to squint when looking at your betrothed whilst saying your vows.
You could say I know Hengrave Hall inside out. It is a fantastic venue come rain or shine, and if they would just unplug some of those pesky air freshener scenty things, then I would be even happier shooting there.
Israr and Lucy’s wedding at Hengrave Hall was a lovely laid back affair, with unexpected sunshine and a fantastic atmosphere with amazing fireworks at the end. Here are some of my favourites from the day.
