What lovely way to finish the year, a small intimate wedding less than a mile from my home, with a fun loving, laid back couple. The Crown in Old Amersham is a fantastically cosy winter wedding venue, but also presents certain challenges to the wedding photographer, as it is not bathed in bright light at the best of times. At 5pm in December it is mainly lit by candles. Because of it’s size, flash isn’t really an option unless you want to seriously annoy your subjects – but actually The Crown suits my style perfectly, and I was able to skulk in the shadows and get some very atmospheric shots of the party with all my camera settings turned up to ten.
I have been so rubbish blogging since my marathon 14 wedding September, but I am hoping to fill in the gaps of those missing weddings after Christmas….Congrats to Chris and Ellie – it was a real pleasure to shoot their wedding.
