Hidcote Manor Wedding Photography

Tori & Alex had a great day at Hidcote Manor, a truly stunning venue with photographic opportunities every corner you turn. Another sea of familiar faces, I had shot Tori’s cousin’s wedding at Syon last summer, so I felt right at home.

One of the smiliest days I have had the pleasure of photographing, Tori beamed all day long, and who could blame Alex for his big grin in the first picture? The fantastic spread of Chinese food in his local pub before the service must have caused this, and yes he was gentleman enough to offer me some.

Which, although I am on something of a diet, I was happy to accept. Out of politeness you understand.

Suzie said “What brilliant photos…thank you SO much…we are really thrilled with them and I managed to see them this a.m. with Tori & Alex before taking them to the airport. You are a REAL STAR! Many many thanks for everything – it’s going to be so hard to choose which one’s to have as there are so many really lovely ones…”

TAM & JASPAR – SUFFOLK MARQUEE WEDDING

Tam and Jaspar held their reception at her parents’ magnificent house in Suffolk. I was bowled over by the marquee, and amazed to hear that the day after the wedding, they were to be hosting a party for 80 to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Quite a weekend!

I was lucky enough to have Ben Clowes as my wingman for the second week in a row, and all was good. So, the marquee was breathtaking, and the weather was umbrella-taking. In fact the weather had no idea what it was doing. One minute it was inside out brollies, the next minute I was reaching for my factor 30. Every time I got a family group to pop outside into the sun for a group shot, the heavens opened. Hey ho.

With so much scope and space for incredible bride and groom shots, we were amused to find ourselves huddled in a barn doorway to escape a sudden flashflood. Tam and Jaspar completely saw the funny side, and I explained that the light was in fact excellent in said doorway, so we carried on with it regardless. And it was. And by the way, they were huddled, not we, and I got wet, and they didn’t. As it should be.

The lawn was bedecked with teeny tealights, more than you could ever find in one branch of Ikea, and by night as I left, it looked magical.

Tam’s sister said “Dear Guy

I just wanted to say that you are an absolute STAR. My friend recommended you and you were just so brilliant. I have sent your link to a whole load of friends. Just thanks so much for capturing these personalities and most of all for documenting the most special day of all our lives with such sensitivity, taste and humour. You have captured the moments and we are really proud to be on your blog. THANK YOU, really so much.

Love
Abigail (Tam’s sister)”

Brocket Hall Wedding Photography

Marlene and I had been trading emails for nearly a year discussing the ups and the downs of a successful wedding….I’m quite a dab hand at being able to advise on the many aspects of what makes a wedding better than just simply fantastic. As wedding photographers, we see a lot more weddings up close and personal than the magazines and the listings websites, and although I am not about to set up ‘Guy Hearn Inc. Little White Confetti Book Wedding Fluffy Directory’ anytime soon, I am quite a good port of call if you want to snoop at pictures of flowers, table decorations, venues and CAKES.

Marlene managed to secure the services of McQueens florists whose flowers are always absolutely exquisite. I’m a boy but even I can see that they know how to put a lily in a vase better than most. Her wedding was amazing fun from beginning to end, and Brocket Hall Golf Club with it’s vast views stretching out over the lake did her proud.

The rain stayed away until the minute they sat down to eat, when the heavens opened and Ben the Vid and I got some fab black sky bouncing puddles pictures. No one got wet, other than getting splashed by the tears of laughter invoked by Liam’s brothers very excellent speech at the end of the wedding breakfast. Here are some shots from the day….
